About Ctrl + Alt + Chaos

I’m a real person first and a Woman In Technology second. I’ve spent the past decade working in cloud engineering and application development, mostly at Fortune 500 companies. Along the way, I’ve learned a lot about systems, code, culture, and how the industry functions (or doesn’t). And I’ve seen how intimidating and alienating it can feel, whether you’re trying to break into tech or just trying to understand how it shapes your world.

I started Ctrl + Alt + Chaos as a place for two kinds of people:

  • Those early in their tech careers who want honest, grounded advice without the “tech bro” or “fin bro” noise
  • And those not in tech, but curious about it. People who want to understand how modern technology works, who it serves, and who it leaves behind

This blog is part guide, part commentary, and part reflection. I write about career growth, digital literacy, tech culture, and how to stay human in systems that often aren’t built for us. I believe in being technically capable without adopting grind culture or referring to people as “resources.” (Seriously, stop doing that.)

I take a moderate view of technology: I believe it can empower and transform, but I also keep a close eye on where it manipulates, extracts, and distracts. I’m here for more open-source tools, fewer algorithmic ads, and more code written to help someone’s grandma get an Uber, NOT sell her another subscription she doesn’t need.

If you’re trying to build a life that includes technology but doesn’t revolve around it, or if you miss the weird, creative, people-first energy of the early web—you’re in the right place.
